Can you believe it’s Friday already?! The second rendition of the unashamedly popular Fridays In The Till is ready to go (Martin Solveig style).
Hot Chip – Flutes
The biggest and best surprise I’ve had all week is waking on a Friday to see everybody going nuts over the new Hot Chip video! The slick return from the UK’s finest oddballs is a class in catchy hooks and subtle progression, whilst the clip is bound to put you i a spin. Literally. In Our Heads is released June 11th through Domino, and I personally can’t wait.
The Shoes – Time To Dance
Clocking in at an impressive 8 and a half minutes, the genius of The Shoes and their toe-tappingly awesome track ‘Time To Dance‘ manages to find itself overshadowed in this video. How, you ask? BECAUSE IT FEATURES JAKE FREAKING GYLLENHAAL AS A SADISTIC, FENCING UNIFORMED PSYCHOPATH. How this came about I’ll never know, but Jesus this is great.
Diplo – Express Yourself (Feat. Nicky Da B)
The now ‘Oprah-rich’ Diplo has put out a moombah/breaks classic in ‘Express Yourself‘ through his freebies label Jeffrees. Featuring the riddim rhymes of Nicky Da B and some serious ass shakin’ magic, the clip perfectly encapsulates the party vibe whilst showcasing a true expression of art. Sort of. Crumping isn’t art, is it? Regardless, this is cool.
DZ Deathrays – No Sleep
This is so fucking radical. DZ Deathrays and their buddy (also long-time city of Adelaide enthusiast) Arj Barker parody the insatiable Paul Simon and his 1986 phenomenon ‘You Can Call Me Al’ video. Need I say more?
